TOMBSTONE OF CAPT. WILLIAM PEACH & MARINA PEACH - Salisbury Cove Cemetery, Salisbury Cove, Mount Desert Island, ME

This tombstone is very interesting.  It tells us that Captain Peach was lost at sea.  This information immediately invites us to perform more research on how the tragedy came about.  The inscribed symbols around the names on this tombstone are also very interesting and decorative.  The top of the stone has been weathered and has taken on a darker color.  The bottom of the stone retains much of its milky white appearance giving the total tombstone an interesting hue of colors.  Take notice also of the foot stone.  It has both the Captain and his wife's initials.
