Yesterday we had the photo of Francis Liscomb's tombstone and the story of my "rescuing" it. Today we have the tombstone of Francis' father, Gideon Liscomb. It is a shared tombstone with his wife. The words "father" and Gideon's name are in raised letters and the rest of the tombstone is inscribed. Notice the strange hole on the bottom of the tombstone and the apparent markings surrounding it. I am not sure what happened to this stone. Was it shot at one time? Was it hit with a sharp object or shovel? Was it drilled? We may never know but it is definitely interesting.
